The Lobatchevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod (UNN) has recently adopted a Strategy for Development until 2020 and is participating in the State University Competitiveness Enhancement Program.
The Institute of Economics and entrepreneurship (IEE) was founded in January 2014. In the framework of the implementation of the State University Competitiveness Enhancement Program, three faculties, the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Finance and Faculty of Management and Business merged together to form the Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship.
The economic faculty was the oldest part of this amalgamation. It was founded more than fifty year ago and had been offering different training programs. The Faculty of Management and Business set up in the 90th by the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod, was the first faculty in Russia teaching entrepreneurship.
Today the IEE is the largest unit of the University by number of students and teachers. The Institute has one of the best logistical bases in the Lobatchevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod (several buildings for students, library, dormitory, sports halls) and meets the highest international requirements.
