Sergey Petrov graduated from Radiophysical Faculty at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (“Radio Physics and Electronics”) in 1983, in 1999 — Faculty of Finance at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (“Finance and Credit”). In 1990 he graduated from full-time postgraduate study and defended his PhD (Cand. Sc. (Physics and Mathematics)) on “Spectral characteristics of the short waves in non-stationary and absorbing random media”.
Since 1999 Mr. Petrov has been working at the Department of Finance. In 2003 he became an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance. Sergey Petrov is a co-author of the review paper in the journal “Waves in random media” (UK, London).
He speaks Russian and English.
In 2014 Sergey Petrov (co-authored with Oksana Kashina) has been taking part in development of courses “Advanced Portfolio Management” (Master Level) in English.
Sergey Petrov was a participant of visiting sessions of Educational and Methodological Association of Universities for Departments of “Finance and Credit” in Rostov-na-Dony (Russia, 2010) and in Kursk (Russia, 2012). In 2012 Mr. Petrov took career development training in Pierre-Mendès-France University (UPMF) (Grenoble, France) under the program “European production management”. In 2014 Sergey Petrov took advanced training in International Training Center of financial monitoring (Moscow, Russia) under the program “Training for counteraction to legalization money laundering and terrorist financing”.
Sergey Petrov is an active participant of international scientific measures with universities of Greece — Athens Institute for Education and Research (Athens), Czech Republic — The Silesian University (Opava), Scholl of Business Administration (Karvina).
Не presented scientific papers (co-authored with Oksana Kashina) in International Conferences on Finance in Athens (2015) and Prague (2015). Sergey Petrov is a permanent participant of Russian and International conferences (Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Athens, Prague).
Sergey Petrov was a scientific advisor of Ph.D. thesis (Cand. Sc. (Economics)) in 2006.
He also carries out active scientific work with students: in 2014 diploma student captured top spots under the competition “Best qualifying paper among the graduates of the Departments of Finance and Economics at Russian Universities”.
